  1. Tired of all those flashy floppy disk initializers that don't work
  2. very well?  Download this FKEY now!  It is the fastest disk
  3. initializer that I have ever seen.  It has a refreshing, no-nonsense
  4. interface, and it is less a fast download.  It is less than 2 K on
  5. disk.  I downloaded it from wumadison.  It had no documentation so
  6. enjoy it FREE.

  8. Here is the standard FKEY installation blurb.

  10. 1) Use Suitcase or Juggler to load the FKEY.  OR...
  11.  
  12. 2)  Use one of several available public domain FKEY installers, 'FKEY
  13. Manager' by Carlos Weber is what I use, and it is also FREE.  OR...
  14.  
  15. 3) Use ResEdit to install it.

  17. First of all, I should give you the tired old warning that always
  18. accompanies ResEdit instructions, always work with a backup copy of
  19. any file that you will be working with in ResEdit.

  21. To load the FKEY, start ResEdit and open the file 'Init 2.3a FKEY'.
  22. Double click on FKEY, select the FKEY 'Init 2.3a', and choose Copy from
  23. the edit menu. Close the file 'Init 2.3a FKEY' and open your system
  24. file. Double click on FKEY and choose Paste from the edit menu. If
  25. you want to assign a different key combination to the FKEY, click on
  26. the FKEY 'Init 2.3a' and select Get Info from the menu. Type in a number
  27. in the ID field from 5 to 9, or 0 (FKEYs 1 through 4 are reserved by
  28. Apple). Close the system file, saving the changes when asked.
